Krystal Slayden -Owner/Stylist
Krystal is the owner of The Tanning Roost & Salon.
She has been in a salon of one form or another for several years, and got her start in the industry by learning from others and becoming an Apprentice. Krystal worked diligently, and was able to get licensed in the state of Missouri nearly 2 years ago so that she could continue to do what she loves. Even more, Krystal was able to pursue her dream of becoming a true entrepreneur, and opened up her very own salon in May of 2016. Krystal wants to see her business succeed and she tries to commit her very best to each client, giving them personal and customized attention and making sure that they are happy before they leave her chair. Krystal specializes in cuts and colors. She's easy to spot when you walk in, she is most likely wearing something funky and fun, sporting pops of color in her hair, and offering a big welcoming smile!

Krystal has been in a long term relationship for 10 years, and is a mother to 2 very smart, wonderful boys. She believes strongly in family and before her career, she was a dedicated stay at home mom. In her free time she loves to be outdoors, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.

Kelly King - Stylist
Kelly is a long time resident of Pleasant Hill, and has been part of the community for 16 years. She graduated from the Independence College of Cosmetology in 1995, and has been working in the field ever since evolving her skill and style. Kelly has been at the Tanning Roost & Salon since the doors opened in 2016, and provides her clients with; hair cuts, color, perms, facials, waxing, and especially enjoys doing up-do's. Kelly enjoys making people look and feel good and it shows in her work. She is dedicated to making her clients feel their very best and takes enormous pride in the services and experience she offers to her clients.

Kelly has been married since 1997 and is a dedicated mother of 2 children. She strongly believes in family, and as a wife of a firefighter, she greatly understands how precious every moment with them is. In her free time Kelly enjoys rooting for the Yankees, reading historical fiction, doing crafts and sewing.
